Frequently asked questions about hotel reservation resale
Last updated: 12 November 2025
TripResale is a Spanish company that turns non-refundable hotel bookings into opportunities. If you can’t travel, you can resell your reservation; and if you’re looking for discounted accommodation, you can buy stays that other travelers are reselling. A safe, transparent, and quick way to recover or save money.
You probably made a booking at a hotel that works with tripResale. Through our platform, the hotel can offer you the option to resell your reservation if you can’t use it. When booking, you are always informed about the possibility of receiving commercial communications related to this service.
TripResale rates let you easily resell your reservation if your plans change. That way, you don’t lose your money, and another traveler can enjoy your stay. It’s a flexible solution that gives you peace of mind and more control.
TripResale-rate bookings can only be resold on our official website: www.tripResale.com. It cannot be done on other platforms. This ensures a secure transaction and protects your data.
All active resale bookings are listed on the homepage and in the “Offers” section. You can filter by destination, date, or hotel type to find the best deal.
A green button means the booking is available for immediate purchase. A blue button means you can make an offer to the seller, as the booking is not yet open to direct purchase.
No. tripResale is a marketplace for reselling bookings, not modifying them. If you need to change dates or conditions, please contact the hotel directly.
Bookings can remain available for up to 24 hours before the check-in date. They may be removed earlier if bought by another traveller or withdrawn by the seller.
No. All bookings visible on www.tripResale.com are public. Once you complete your purchase, that booking is immediately removed from the marketplace because it becomes yours.
A sale is not guaranteed. However, many bookings resell easily if they have a good location, dates, or price. If it doesn’t sell, you will still be able to use your reservation.
Costs depend on the type of operation, but they are always shown clearly before confirming.
No hidden fees. No small print.
🔹 Standard operations
When your booking has a tripResale rate and is listed in our marketplace:
• Buyer: 7.5% commission

This applies to direct transactions between travelers on tripresale.com.
🔹 Custom requests or flexible bookings
Some special operations —such as tailored searches or flexible bookings— may involve different fees or rewards. You will always see the exact amount before you accept it.
Our promise: You will never move forward with a purchase or sale without knowing and agreeing to the financial terms.
Total transparency, always.
Yes. Once the transaction is complete, tripResale sends confirmation to the buyer, the seller, and the hotel. All details are updated, and the stay is officially confirmed.
Payments are processed a few days after the booking is confirmed. If you haven’t received your payment within a week, please contact our team at support@tripresale.com.
If your booking has not yet been sold, you can withdraw it at any time. Simply log in to tripResale, go to “My Bookings” and click the red button “Cancel resale”. You will then be able to use your reservation normally.
Stripe, our secure payment system, is available in more than 60 countries, including Spain, Mexico, France, Germany, the United States and the United Kingdom. You can check the full list on Stripe’s website. If your country is not listed, contact us at support@tripresale.com to arrange a manual bank transfer.
Additional services — such as transfers, schedules, or in-room amenities — are handled directly by the hotel. tripResale facilitates the resale of reservations but does not manage hotel operations. We recommend contacting the hotel for the latest information.
No. All bookings on tripResale are managed as a single package and cannot be split by nights or partially sold. If a booking includes several rooms under the same reference number, it still counts as one transaction. Therefore, partial resale is not possible.
